Message From the President

David Mayes

Greetings to all of our colleagues throughout the State of Arkansas! I hope you have had a successful beginning to the fall semester.

Now is the time to register for the annual conference. You will not be disappointed by either the location or the programming, and the opportunity to network with professionals who face the same challenges as you do. Make your reservations as soon as possible. The Razorbacks have their last home game in Fayetteville that weekend.

The annual conference is also a time to seek involvement in ArCPA and to recognize accomplishments of Student Services profession-als. The Mossie J. Richmond, Jr. Outstanding Leadership Award recognizes outstanding student affairs leaders from Arkansas who have made significant contributions to ACPA. The New Professionals Award recognizes outstanding new professionals with less than five years of experience in student affairs/service field in the state of Arkansas. Nominations can be sent to Cledis Stuart at cledisstuart@saumag.edu.

We are in the process of finalizing details to co-sponsor next year’s annual conference with ArkACRAO (Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers). We feel like combining efforts can enhance the programming for both organizations. Mark your calendars for October 5, 6, and 7, 2011.
